The net profit of AS "UniCredit Bank" Lithuania Branch in the financial year 2008, if compared with 2007, increased from LTL 1.055 million up to LTL 4.038 million.
According to the financial audit data, the amount of deposits held in the bank even following the outbreak of the global financial crisis in 2008 remained stable if compared with 2007. The amount of the loans issued to the clients increased by 5% up to LTL 762.752 million. According to the Managing Director of AS "UniCredit Bank" Lithuanian Branch, Gintaras Maželis, in 2008 the bank exerted consistent efforts in pursuit of the targets set and managed to offer beneficial solutions for its business clients.
"The financial crisis made a substantial contribution to the global economic recession and tested the stability of the banks. We can rejoice at that we have passed this test, acquired experience and managed to take an individual approach to our clients' needs in this difficult time for business. This year, we can see a lot of new opportunities and our bank is planning its development, increase of the number of its clients and further issue of business loans", said Mr. Maželis.
Last year, AS "UniCredit Bank" consolidated its position in the Lithuanian market. The bank has its head office in Vilnius and a business customers unit in Klaipėda and a new unit in Kaunas, which was opened in January. A new internet banking system was successfully installed, the units engaged in commerce financing and efficient money management were enhanced. In the nearest future, the bank is also planning to start providing financial leasing services to business clients.
From the very beginning of its business, the bank has always focused on its client, individual approach and work with a client still remain among the most important principles. In 2009, AS "UniCredit Bank" is planning to expand its range of products and services based on the experience and international chain of UniCredit Group.
