Press release: HVB~Bank Vilnius Branch becomes UniCredit Bank Lithuania Branch

Starting from September 1, 2007 AS UniCredit Bank takes over the business of HVB~Bank Vilnius Branch and HVB Bank Tallinn Branch respectively continuing the integration in one of the biggest European banking groups - UniCredit Group.


Following the strategy of UniCredit Group to create a Pan-Baltic bank with branches in all 3 countries, AS "UniCredit Bank" has assumed all rights and obligations of HVB~Bank Vilnius Branch and HVB~Bank Tallinn Branch as of the 1st September 2007. As of this date both AS UniCredit Bank Lithuania Branch, the branch set up by AS "UniCredit Bank" in Lithuania on the 8th of January 2007 and the AS UniCredit Bank Estonian Branch, the branch set up by AS "UniCredit Bank" in Estonia on the 26th of January 2007, will carry on the operation of financial services business, performed by HVB~Bank Vilnius Branch and HVB~Bank Tallinn Branch respectively. AS "UniCredit Bank" is controlled by Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA), the Vienna-based center for CEE business of UniCredit Group.


The Management Board consisting of Juris Jākobsons (CEO), Algimantas Kundrotas, Torsten Tegtmeier, Wilfried Seemann and Frank Marcus will lead the Bank's activities in all 3 Baltic countries. Starting from the 1st of September 2007, the S.W.I.F.T. address for respective branch operations will be changed. All bank's customers and cooperation partners have been informed well in advance about the changes.


This local integration will not only ensure AS "UniCredit Bank" integration in UniCredit Group, but also offer much broader possibilities for the customers of both AS UniCredit Bank Lithuania Branch and AS UniCredit Bank Estonian Branch in the Baltic countries. By keeping the main focus on corporate customers, AS "UniCredit Bank" is planning through its branches to continue to operate in such areas as commercial real estate financing and trade financing and is also planning to start offering leasing services.
